Looking around, Maria couldn't understand why everyone thought they were so special. They all thought they were so pretty, so smart, so good at sports, so popular. Well, she could be smart too. She just had to stop being so lazy. She could get straight A's if she really wanted to, as opposed to her A/B average. She was stronger than she looked, so sports could have been easy.
